Bio

The Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawai'i (ALFH) hired its first executive director since it's founding in 1982 in June of 2006. Active as a leader in the arts community for the past 18 years, Ms. Kim Coffee-Isaak developed and implemented numerous successful collaborative projects including the ARTS at Marks Garage, the Downtown Gallery Walk and First Fridays in Honolulu. During her ten-year tenure as Executive Director of Hawai'i Craftsmen she implemented quality programming that garnered statewide praise for the Craftsmen.

The skills Ms. Coffee-Isaak developed leading arts organizations will transfer well to the agricultural community. She will continue the work of building strong partnerships between organizations, agricultural businesses, and the community and will utilize her programming and community building skills to further the mission of ALFH. She will work to educate the public about the importance of a healthy agriculture industry in Hawaii, as well as, advocate for and support farmers, agricultural businesses, and the professionals supporting the industry in universities, state and county governments, and non-profit organizations through leadership development opportunities.

Ms. Coffee-Isaak holds a BA in Ceramics/Glass with a minor in Business from San Jose State University and was the recipient of a Stanford Graduate School of Business / National Art Strategies Fellowship in 2004. She has been a resident of Hawaii for over 30 years and looks forward to the challenge of keeping Hawaii's important agricultural communities strong and vibrant.

Statement

I In the past my outlook and many of my actions were filtered through the eyes of artists and the
arts community. I now find myself seeing from the point of view of a farmer, rancher,
nurserymen, scientist, educator or landowner. Of course the challenges and realities for each
group are very different. Yet the passion, the entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to
envision a future for Hawaii that is sustainable are common between these two groups. I've seen
first hand how collaborative leadership can make a big impact on realizing solutions to some of
Hawaii's greatest problems. I am honored to be contributing my time and skills to bring us
closer to our collective vision for a thriving agricultural industry.
