¨       Oversaw natural resources and community outreach programs using Honouliuli Preserve as a model (annual budget approximately $700,000)

 

¨       Served as strategic advisor to the Coordinator of the public/private Ko`olau Mountains Watershed Partnership and Executive Committee member

 

¨       Led the effort to design and construct a model learning center focused on “sustainability” in the city of Kapolei (Mālama Learning Center)

¨       Created and conducted an experiential summer internship course, Hoa`āina, Stewards of the Land,  for more than 75 high school and college students over seven years; many are conservation professionals today

 

¨       Conducted training programs for volunteer preserve hike leaders on four islands

 

¨       Created educational displays and interpretive signs

 

¨       Conducted more than 100 presentations to school and community groups
