¨       Led the effort to design and construct a model learning center focused on “sustainability” in the city of Kapolei (Mālama Learning Center)

¨       Created and conducted an experiential summer internship course, Hoa`āina, Stewards of the Land,  for more than 75 high school and college students over seven years; many are conservation professionals today
