Matt has been the Assistant Controller for Alexander & Baldwin
since 2001. Prior to that he was an audit manager with Ernst & Young in
the Honolulu office, where he was responsible for the audits of clients
in a wide range of industries.
Matt first moved to Hawaii in 1982 as a nuclear trained engineer
where he was stationed onboard submarines at Pearl Harbor. He left the
Navy in 1988 to help start up the H-power plant in Kapolei, Hawaii,
while he earned a degree in accounting at Hawaii Pacific University.
Following this he accepted a position as an auditor with Ernst & Young.
He is currently attending the Executive MBA program at the University
of Hawaii. Matt lives with his beautiful wife (Mylin) and baby daughter
(Jaylin) in Mililani.
I'm excited to be a part of an organization with such a strong
history of contribution to the success of agriculture in Hawaii.
Although not a farmer, I have a great deal of respect for their hard
work and the contributions they make to our communities.
