Johanna Ventura works with various initiatives focused on building community resiliency through rural economic development, strengthening cultural awareness and empowering communities to have a more active role in long term planning. 

She currently works with two non-profits, the Waipa Foundation and Hale Halawai 'Ohana 'O Hanalei, and also provides community outreach consultation to a variety of governmental and corporate clients. 

Johanna is a current commissioner and former chair of the County of Kauai's Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Fund Commission.
